A 1969 survey of US. reprint publishers (population: 274; survey size: 250; responding: 157 or 62.8%) showed that, of 216 firms for which data was available  (some firms were interviewed directly rather than being sent a questionnaire), reprints were reported available in the following formats from the following numbers of firms:

              hardcover books                    183 (85.1%) firms

              paperbound books                 103 (47.7%) firms

              microfilm                                  31(14.4%)   firms

              microfiche                                15 (  6.9%) firms

              xerographic                              12 (  5.6%) firms

              microcards                                8 (   3.7%) firms

              micro-opaques                          3     (1.4%)      firms
