Dr. David Kohl

Dr. Kohl consults and provides workshops internationally on a wide variety of current library topics. His background includes over 30 years of work in academic libraries at both the senior administrative level and on the front lines of information services. He has been active in the American Library Association on a wide variety of committees, as co-founder of RUSA’s  Collection Development and Evaluation Section, and as President of the Reference and Adult Services Association. Internationally he served for many years as the Association of Research Libraries delegate to the IFLA  Committee on Interlending, co-proposed and helped found SPARC Europe, and was invited as a Senior Fulbright Scholar for terms in Turkey, Taiwan, Greece, and India. Dr. Kohl  has written and published extensively including ten years as Journal of Academic Librarianship Editor-in-Chief, is author of the only compendium of qualitative library research for academic, public, and special libraries and is developing a book on practical issues for individuals involved in management and administration.
